Her book, Three Hots and a Cot, Stories of Courage from People Suffering with Homelessness, Addiction, and AIDS, is the true account of people whom she met as a shelter volunteer. She and the homeless people performed the monologues for educational, religious, civic and governmental groups to raise awareness and funds. They performed before Congress and the Virginia Governor's Conference on Housing and Homelessness. Nancy won many awards for the work. The scripts also are available as a playbook with licensing provisions.

Nancy now teaches classes and provides writing, editing, training, and personal coaching services in-person and online.
