Alice Gorman

Alice Gorman, also known as Dr Space Junk, is an internationally recognised space archaeologist and space industry advocate. She investigates the archaeology and heritage of space junk, space stations, planetary landing sites, rocket launches and antennas. Gorman is a member of the faculty of the International Space University, Associate Professor at Flinders University in Adelaide, and a member of the Space Industry Association of Australia's Advisory Council. She is also a prolific writer regularly contributing to The Conversation and various journals and publications. In 2017 she won the Bragg UNSW Press Prize for Science Writing. Her book Dr Space Junk vs the Universe: Archaeology and the Future was shortlisted for the Queensland Literary Awards, NSW Premier's Awards, and Adelaide Festival Literary Awards, and won the Mark and Evette Moral NIB People's Choice Award in 2019.
