Victoria Broussard

4.5/5 ( ratings)
Ms. Victoria Elyonda Broussard is a practicing attorney in Texas who graduated from the University of Texas in Austin, earning a Bachelor of Arts degree in Sociology. She received her Juris Doctorate from Texas Southern University, with honors, serving as the Executive Editor of the Law Review. She is a resident of Harris County, a member of the American Bar Association, and is licensed to practice law in all courts in the State of Texas.

She has operated a solo practice for the past nine years focusing primarily on family and criminal law. She was born in Port Arthur, Texas, has lived in many states, as well as in Europe during her mother’s twenty year tenure in the United States Air Force. In addition to operating a successful solo practice and raising a son who is a sophomore at The University of New England in Maine,

Ms. Broussard is also an advocate for women’s rights as well as for survivors of childhood sexual abuse. She has lent her voice to this terrifying issue to bring awareness to a topic that has lurked in the shadows of society and caused immeasurable damage to countless people. Ms. Broussard joins her efforts with other survivors to dispel the myths surrounding childhood sexual abuse, encourage legislation that provides counseling and therapeutic services for victims, educates parents and caregivers to recognize the signs of sexual abuse, and that adequately punishes convicted offenders.

Ms. Broussard’s decision to chronicle her soul stains induced by years of undisclosed and unresolved childhood sexual abuse, resulted in her first novel, i-Comfortable Victim. She felt compelled to help others journey to their true selves by writing about her experience of learning to love herself and heal from deeply rooted scars.
Ms. Broussard’s passion for healing hurts caused by childhood sexual abuse, prompted her to create a non-profit organization called B'yond the Unveiling. The nonprofit will serve as a conduit for comprehensive “out of the box” treatment for survivors, convicted pedophiles, and those struggling with thoughts of committing sex crimes against children. It will aid in restoring survivors whose lives have been stifled and forever changed by childhood sexual abuse, promote sexual abuse education and early detection to identify at risk youth, provide legal assistance to survivors, and resources for young survivors to detour them from falling into prostitution, the sex trade, or drugs.

Ms. Broussard is always prepared to encourage others with her loving, straight forward, zero tolerance approach at conferences, gatherings, and churches to use disclosure and truth as the vehicle to obtain their liberty from the chains and soul stains of their childhood and challenging past experiences. Ms. Broussard is honored to be a member of the RAINN Speaker’s Bureau, has been as guest speaker at events sponsored by M.A.C.E. , the Hays-Caldwell County Women’s Center in San Marcos, the University of Texas, other Texas organizations.
