I was born in Sanford, Maine and now reside in suburban Chicago. I write stories that are intended to inspire both kids and adults by finding magic in the world and in themselves.

I believe life is full of magic, mystery and mayhem for as long as you wish it to be. We all have a mental picture of our inner self – the “me” who we consider ourselves to be despite what we present to the world in our job, in public, and even amongst family and friends. My inner self is 13 years old – experienced enough to have seen some things, energetic enough to continually search and discover, young enough not to be jaded or cynical.

In the years between the real 13 years old and now, I have been and done many things, not the least of which are husband, father, improvisational comedian, Peace Corps volunteer, teacher, engineer and leader.

I encourage you to approach life with an open heart, an inviting mind, and a “wonderlust” to discover new things.
