A native of Chillicothe, Ohio, Nancy Mann Waddle was born in 1867, one of the daughters of Dr. William Waddle and his wife, Janet. In 1897, Miss Waddle married James Wilson Woodrow, an engineer. In November 1905, Mrs. Woodrow divorced her husband on grounds of desertion. She had already established herself as a literary contributor to various periodicals and some years later began writing novels under the pseudonym Mrs. Wilson Woodrow. She died of a heart attack in New York City on September 7, 1935 and was buried in Grandview Cemetery in Chillicothe.
