Growing up in the small southern town of Ariton, AL, Sandy was given confidence, protection and a sense of adventure through the people she knew. She spent the long summer days writing short stories for her younger cousins. Two of her children’s plays have been performed several times on stage. Sandy attended Wallace College in Dothan, AL. and has been married for over 30 years to Tim McDaniel. In 2013, she spent her time working with the Ariton Historical Society as a writer and publicist on the town’s history. The book was published in April 2014 and is called “Ariton-Where Two Railroads Collided”.
2014 proved to be a busy year for Sandy. She assisted her brother-in-law in realize his dream of opening his own pastry shop in Troy, AL where she is the business manager and publicist. In her free time, she enjoys entertaining and traveling with family and friends and herb gardening, all the while trying to decide what to be when she grows up.
