Svetlana Turan is a writer, translator and editor. She was born in 1983 in Azerbaijan.

She received Bachelor’s degree in English Language Philology at the Azerbaijan University of Languages in 2004 and Master’s degree in English and American literature at the same university in 2006.

She is the author of the novel “The Wave” and the short story collection “Shakti. Women’s language” . She has translated up to 30 books to date.

“The Wave” was in the Long List of the National Book Award Azerbaijan in 2011.
