Shenita Hubbard, or Shay as she is called by friends and family, is known in the writing industry as Caramel Cocayne. Shay was born on June 23, 1983; in Athens, Georgia she is 33 years young. She began writing at the young age of twelve, when her father passed. Instead of mourning over her loss, she channeled her feelings into her writing. She used her writing as a way to express her feelings and inner thoughts. Her writing began with poems, but soon evolved into short stories. She wrote and published her first book “Secrets in the Closet” on January 14, 2017. Reading and writing is a passion for Shay, because it gives her a chance to escape from reality and imagine the world the way she wants it. Shay is a proud mother of three wonder children whose names are Destiny, Mekhi, and Raven. She strives to make a better life for herself, as well as her children who are her motivation and reason. Shay’s goal is to one day become a full-time author and establish her own brand. She also wants to start her own publishing company, to give the same chance to others that her publisher and fellow author Thai Gardner and Major Ink Publications gave to her. Shay is ready and willing to go the extra mile to turn her dreams to reality.
