Archibald Henry Grimke was an American lawyer, intellectual, journalist, diplomat and community leader in the 19th and early 20th century. He was a graduate of Lincoln University and Harvard Law School, American Consul to the Dominican Republic from 1894- 1898, and a co-founder of the National Association for the Advancement of Colored People in 1909. His works include: William Lloyd Garrison and Life of Charles Sumner .
