Peter Brain is the executive director and co-founder of the National Institute of Economic and Industry Research , and the founding author of the State of the Regions report. His work includes analysis of regional economics, infrastructure, major projects and events; environmental impacts, employment and education, international and regional trade, industry policy and the implications of these on social and economic development in Australia. Peter has participated in over 1500 economic consulting projects in Australia, South Africa and New Zealand, and spent many years developing NIEIR’s IMP model of the Australian economy.
