Luis Contreras Villamayor was born in Lobos in 1876 and died in the city of Buenos Aires in 1961. Between 1913 and 1914 he collaborated with Crítica newspaper and published in Sherlock Holmes magazine the first chapters of La muerte del Pibe Oscar, his "lost" novel. In 1915, he published El lenguaje del bajo fondo, a lunfardo dictionary. He became an officer in the National Corps of Prison Wardens. After retiring, he was director of the railway magazine Pullman.
