Anatoly Veniaminovich Kalinin. Soviet writer, poet and playwright.

He was born in the family of a teacher who came from the Don Cossacks.

Born into a family of teachers. During the Civil War, my father was a member of the volost revolutionary committee, participated in the requisition of property from the rich, and established classes in schools. In early childhood, the boy witnessed the attack of bandits on their house, his mother helped out, the first who fired a revolver. The places of residence of the family, always associated with the Don land, led to a close acquaintance with the everyday life and culture of the Cossacks. Later Kalinin recalled: "If what is usually called creativity begins with the search ... for the harmony of the music of life with the music of the word, then where was the first time it was possible to listen to this harmony if not in a Cossack song." The impressions of early childhood and the family's lifestyle determined the active life position of Kalinin.
