Mabel's Enterprise

4.8/5 ( ratings)
Mabel Hewitt and Matt Henderson are the co-founders of Mabel's Enterprise and co-authors of The Tingalings. Mabel is 91 years old. No stranger to adversity, she suffered poverty and abuse as a child during World War II. She lost her husband and sole life partner at 56 and successfully battled cancer at 88. With the kindest heart, she is passionate about equal opportunities for all children.

Mabel has teamed up with Grandson Matt, devoted Dad of three, who has left corporate life behind to invest his time and money in this ambitious project. Mabel and Matt channel all profits from the sale of Tingalings products into Mabel's Fund to finance inspiring extra-curricular activities for children attending schools located in areas of high child poverty. They guarantee customers at least £1.50 from all book sales will be channelled to Mabel's Fund.

Their first partner school, Washwood Heath Academy, is located in a Birmingham ward with 57% child poverty. In 2021, they funded trips for 210 children. Impact: https://youtu.be/OET-JEcGnhM
