Sarah Vaughan is the international bestselling author of Boobs are For Life, Not Just For Insta! And has appeared on This Morning and North West Tonight to promote her book and raise awareness of checking for lumps and breast changes.
Ok, so maybe she hasn’t made those TV appearances nor is she a bestselling author…yet. However she was diagnosed with HER2 positive breast cancer in December 2017 whilst working as an Art teacher in a small unit for secondary students with complex and medical needs.

A cancer diagnosis will never come at a good time but she decided she must have been really naughty in a former life, as having just got engaged, run a marathon around Barcelona, the unfortunate news arrived the day she was given the keys to her new house with her new family, a couple of weeks before their first Christmas together.

The bolt out of the blue diagnosis motivated her to start a blog to raise awareness called @firstofthemonthcheckforalump. This evolved into Sarah realising she was actually helping people when messages of thanks came flooding in. Not one to do things by halves, she decided to record all her experiences and write a book, including formatting, self-publishing and marketing it.
Fast forward a few years, and her dream of starting a charity to support children and families through their cancer treatment is starting to become a reality.

Sarah continues to teach four days a week and lives happily in St. Helens, Merseyside with her husband, four adorable children and her two dogs.
