Stephanie D. Shaver is an American writer and game developer who has been writing and selling fantasy fiction and articles for three decades. Her work has been featured in various fanzines, magazines, and collections, most recently and prolifically the Valdemar anthologies, edited by Mercedes Lackey. She also provided early design and worldbuilding input on the games GemStone III, DragonRealms, and Fantasy University. She has previously worked for Blizzard Entertaintment.

She currently resides in Washington state, where she works for Wizards of the Coast, and writes as much as possible.
