As the editor of Tied-In, the International Association of Media Tie-In Writers newsletter, Brandie Tarvin has her finger on the pulse of every author who produces fiction with other people's characters. Her first published work, a short story in the Transformers: Legends was anthology based on the popular toy series. Tarvin is now a regular contributor of prose material for the Shadowrun series of role playing games and related fiction.

Tarvin writes for the Blue Kingdoms fantasy series edited by Jean Rabe and Stephen D. Sullivan and her recent work includes "Silk and Steam", a European World War I fantasy vignette, "Another Day, Another Labor", a modern take on Greek mythology, and "The Hunt for Liberty Jones" in the Space Tramps anthology. She is a member of the Science Fiction and Fantasy Writers Association of America, attended the Viable Paradise writing workshop in 2009, and currently works as an editor-intern at Musa Publishing.
