Lyubomir Nikolov is a Bulgarian translator, writer, journalist and editor.

In the early 1990s, he introduced gamebooks to Bulgarian readers and was among the most productive writers in the new genre.

He is perhaps most well-known for his translation of The Lord of the Rings which earned him the Bulgarian Translators Association Award in 1991 and, along with his translations of Stephen King, the 2001 Graviton Award .

In 1999, Bulgarian fandom voted his novel "Десетият праведник" the Best Bulgarian SF Novel of the 1990s.

In 2007, Lyubomir Nikolov became the recipient of the first Dyankov Translation Award for his translation of Khaled Hosseini’s novel The Kite Runner. The award is given by the Elizabeth Kostova Foundation.
