Following a lifetime working in sales, both in the UK and Australia, Alan has now turned his talents to writing children’s stories.

After leaving Sydney in 2008, Alan and his wife Adare returned to the UK to run a pub in the New Forest, Hampshire. It was there while Alan was writing the pub’s newsletter, he created a fictitious customer to be known as 'Digby a mole in the pub'. Alan soon realised that 'Digger Mole' would be far more suited to a children’s book character, and so his story writing began. He soon found an endless supply of characters, taken from friends and visitors to the pub, and as the ‘Moles’ visit real places in the stories there is no shortage of locations or ideas.

With nine stories written, and well received locally, the plan is to roll more ‘Mole in the Forest’ stories out both Nationally & Internationally.

Alan has other stories with different characters planned but at the moment Digger Mole and his many friends will keep him busy for quite a while yet.

Alan also enjoys public speaking and is a Distinguished Toastmaster .

Digger Mole and his adventures will be coming soon in print and eBook from MP Publishing.
