Tita was born and bred in Jakarta. She moved to Bandung in 1991 to study industrial design at the Technological Institute of Bandung . At the beginning of 1998, she went to the Netherlands to pursue her postgraduate studies. After having earned her doctoral degree at the Technical University of Delft, at the beginning of 2007, she returned to Indonesia.

During her stay in the Netherlands, her passion for comic books led to her involvement in various comics-related activities, among which the 'Madjoe!' exhibition and workshop at Stripdagen Haarlem and the Royal Ethnology Museum , the 'Homesick' exhibition at De Schone Kunsten Gallery and her participation in the '24 Hour Comics Day' at Lambiek . In Indonesia, she participated with her drawings in the 'Fellow Indonesian Comic Artists' exhibition at Erasmus Huis and Karta Pustaka , the 'DI:Y' exhibition at Taman Ismail Marzuki , and the 'Curhat Tita' solo exhibition at SpaCe59 . In 2008 her graphic diaries were published: 'Curhat Tita', 'Transition' and 'Curhat Tita: Back in Bandung'.

Tita currently resides in Bandung with her husband and two children, and works as a lecturer and researcher at the Industrial Design Department of ITB.
