Dr Terence Critchlow joined the Pacific Northwest National Laboratory in 2007 as the Chief Scientist for the Scientific Data Management Group in the Computational Sciences and Mathematics Division and remained in that role until he left in 2013. While at PNNL, he led a variety of projects, including one focused on large-scale data analysis for power grid sensor data. Prior to joining PNNL, he worked at Lawrence Livermore National Laboratory from 1997 to 2007, spending time as a postdoc, individual contributor, and finally a Principle Investigator. He led several projects while at LLNL, including data management efforts supporting the ASC program and several data integration, analysis, and dissemination efforts supporting DHS groups such as ICE agents and the Biodefense Knowledge Center. Dr. Critchlow received his B.Sc. from the University of Alberta in 1990, and his M.S. and Ph.D. in computer science from the University of Utah in 1992 and 1997 respectively. He is currently a senior member of both the IEEE and the ACM. His research interests are focused in the areas of large-scale data management, metadata, data analysis, OLAP, data integration, data dissemination and scientific workflows.
