Laura Dreiže is a Latvian author of fantasy and sci-fi novels for young adults. She has graduated from the Riga French Lycee and is currently studying French philology at the Univeristy of Latvia.

Her debut novel THE SONG OF THE DRAGON was published in 2010 by the leading publishing house of Latvia, Zvaigzne ABC. It was nominated for Best Debut Novel by the Latvian Writers' Association in 2010 and came in as the runner-up in the Children's Choice Awards section that encompassed 9th to 12th grade.

Laura's second novel THE UNFINISHED KISS was published in November 2010. It is a paranormal romance concentrating on the relationship between a vampire and a human girl on the backdrop of a revolution in the vampire world.

In her third novel HAPPINESS BY THE MILE Laura tackles the sci-fi genre. It won the Best Original YA Novel award in the competition held by Zvaigzne ABC.

Laura's fourth novel THE MOTH takes a step towards horror and thriller genres, exploring the fate of a group of people with paranormal abilities in near future.

Laura lives at the very border separating Riga and the municipality of Garkalne. She is still an avid reader, and her favorite authors include J.R.R.Tolkien, George R.R. Martin, Neil Gaiman, Stephen King and Richelle Mead. When not writing, she enjoys listening to all kinds of music, especially classic rock, making silk paintings and shopping for notebooks and pens. Since
2007 Laura has been participating in National Novel WritingMonth and in 2009 she became the Municipal Liaison for Latvia. She is a self-professed chocolate addict and a professional daydreamer. At the moment she is working on her next novel.
