Dr. BN Guha Roy Chowdhury alias Bhumendra Guha, was known as the researcher who enriched Bangla literature by bringing works of eminent poet Jibanananda Das to public view.

Born on August 2, 1933, Guha himself was a poet and a literary critic and had published 10 poetry collections.

Guha, a cardiac surgeon by profession, edited the manuscript of Jibanananda's works “Kobitar Kotha”, “Ruposhi Bangla”, “Bela Obela Kalbela” and fiction “Mallyaban” and deciphered about 1,500 poems by Jibanananda.

The Jibananda Das Academy in Bangladesh yesterday expressed deep shock at the death of this litterateur.
