I was a very shy kid. I found animals easier to understand than people and spent much of my time alone with my imagination, craft and art projects, my family’s many cats and the neighborhood dogs. When I was 13, I bought the biggest German shepherd I could find. And when I was 16 I bought a horse and trained him myself.
I always loved to read. My favorite books were C. S. Lewis’s Narnia series and my father’s collection of science fiction. In my teen years I learned to play the flute and got involved in theater.
I am now retired after 36 years as an animal care technician and thoroughly enjoying the artistic side of myself again. I am currently working on my third novel, doing sculpture, painting and singing and hugging my two horses daily.
