Bong Joon-ho is a South Korean film maker and screenwriter who won the Palme d'Or at the 2019 Cannes Film Festival for Parasite. For his 2013 film Snowpiercer, he was given Best Director awards by the Baeksang Arts Awards, Blue Dragon Film Awards, Director's Cut Awards, Korean Association of Film Critics Awards, and the Asia-Pacific Film Festival, in addition to Best Screenplay by Busan Film Critics Awards.
