Odd Essays - Twelve Extraordinary Stories of Sex, Travel and Tentacles

Odd Essays - Twelve Extraordinary Stories of Sex, Travel and Tentacles

Jan Siegel
2/5 ( ratings)
Quirky comedy/drama set in an alternate reality curiously similar to this one, in which a pair of travel writers are caught up in a fantastic space odyssey, a string of apparently random adventures at once erotic, terrifying, or merely bizarre. As they struggle to get out, get home, and stay sane, they gradually realise they may be up against a mad supervillain who hates all tourists - enough to kill. Including an OCD detective called Shylock Hermes, and with a spiky Pride-and-Prej relationship evolving between the two main characters, this is a travel saga with a difference, part satire, part who-dun-it, part serio-comic romp through a parallel world.

Based on Homer's original epic, with scenes of fantasy erotica worthy of Ancient Greece, a female Ulysses takes on the bad guys and the mad guys to save the partner she loathes - and her own life.
