FASTING FOR SCRIPTURAL REASONS
Fasting should not be practiced for unscriptural reasons: .

• To win an Argument with someone or to prove a point.
• To Protest for a cause.
• To show people and God how humble and holy we are.
• Fasting in itself is of no spiritual value .

Wash your face and anoint yourself each morning, praising the Lord for the work that He is doing in your life.

"Moreover, when ye fast, be not, as the hypocrites, of a sad countenance; for they disfigure their faces that they may appear unto men to fast. Verily I say unto you. They have their reward. But thou, when thou fastest, anoint thine head, and wash they face that thou appear not unto men to fast, but unto thy Father which is in secret; and thy Father, which seeth in secret, shall reward thee openly." .

Only fasting that is done with the right motive that of glorifying God, can be pleading in His sight. .
