DIFFERENT GIFTS OF THE SPIRIT“There are different kinds of gifts, but the same Spirit... Now to each one the manifestation of the Spirit is given for the common good. To one there is given through the Spirit the message of wisdom, to another the message of knowledge by means of the same Spirit, to another faith by the same Spirit, to another gifts of healing by that one Spirit, to another miraculous powers, to another prophecy, to another distinguishing between spirits, to another speaking in different kinds of tongues, and to still another the interpretation of tongues. All these are the work of one and the same Spirit, and he gives them to each one, just as he determines,” .THE HOLY SPIRITJesus established His Church upon the rock of His Deity, His blood sacrifice and the anointing and powers of the Holy Ghost. He believed that His Church should be able to wage a militant successful war against the powers of the Devil. His church was given the absolute ability to conquer the powers of darkness and win the souls that He had died for. “When Jesus came into the coasts of Caesarea Philippi, he asked his disciples, saying, whom do men say that I the Son of man am? 14 And they said, Some say that thou art John the some, Elias; and others, Jeremias, or one of the prophets. 15 He saith unto them, but whom say ye that I am? 16 And Simon Peter answered and said, Thou art the Christ, the Son of the living God. 17 And Jesus answered and said unto him, Blessed art thou, Simon for flesh and blood hath not revealed it unto thee, but my Father which is in heaven. 18 And I say also unto thee, That thou art Peter, and upon this rock I will build my church; and the gates of hell shall not prevail against it. 19 And I will give unto thee the keys of the kingdom of and whatsoever thou shalt bind on earth shall be bound in and whatsoever thou shalt loose on earth shall be loosed in heaven. 20 Then charged he his disciples that they should tell no man that he was Jesus the Christ,” .The Bible shows in , that though Christians live in the world, they do not wage war as the world does. The weapons that we fight with are not the weapons of the world. On the contrary, they have divine power to demolish strongholds. He left His power for His people to be victorious because we have the same anointing through the Holy Ghost as Jesus did. There were one hundred and twenty holy men and women that were filled with power as the Holy Spirit descended upon them appearing with the physical manifestation of tongues of fire. They were anointed and able to perform the supernatural works that Jesus did on earth. Jesus said the Holy Spirit was sent for the endowment of supernatural power for service. "Be endued with power from on high to witness,” .The high water mark of New Testament teaching on the Holy Spirit is reached in . These chapters contain the five “Paraclete sayings” . The use of masculine pronouns and adjectives indicate we are to think of the Holy Spirit as a fully personal being. He is the Spirit of Truth and is seen preeminently as the revealer of Christ. As Jesus Christ is the truth, the Spirit of Truth, led the disciples to a full appreciation of his life and teachings. “And as I began to speak, the Holy Ghost fell on them, as on us at the beginning. Then remembered I the word of the Lord, how that he said, John indeed baptized with water; but ye shall be baptized with the Holy Ghost.
