When we experience a downfall, we tend to look back romantically upon the past.

Number 0 is stuck in that rut, quite literally. He has a voice telling him all the ways he could have changed his past, using a machine called the Alternata. Through each life event, branching paths and alternate options are presented. The sight of these choices can cause despair and threaten the balance, yet, Number 0 is stuck watching each alternate path unfold.

In the end, we all own our choices. But what if we tried another path, took another way?

Perhaps, in the end, our destiny is to fulfill the script that is set for us.
