A fascinating journey through the twentieth century graphic design

The evolution of graphic design in the twentieth century is a fascinating journey through human society itself. Political and ideological changes, technological advances and the mood of each period are reflected in the works of talented designers who have shaped our environment.

Although brief, this review of the evolution of graphic design in the twentieth century is not in any way limited, far from being a mere chronology of major projects and their authors, it addresses the issue by emphasizing not only its formal aspects but also the conceptual ones and lays the foundation for the real understanding of the development of the visual culture from the late nineteenth century to the beginning of our era, in their cultural, political and social context, this being, the only way to understand and assimilate it.

The text of this book has been divided into five chapters, each one associated with five key periods in the development of society in the twentieth century and the graphic design that represented it, in a continuous and reciprocal dialogue, not only esthetic, but also ideological, knowing that the limits are neither rigid nor exclusive in any case.
