Highland Choice (Scottish Highland Romance)

Highland Choice (Scottish Highland Romance)

Elspeth Beatty
3.4/5 ( ratings)
In the times when men defeated men to better their countries and clans, the Norsemen were a much feared and barbaric people. So when they landed on the shores of the Scottish highlands when the warriors of the clan Maccausantin were away fighting for the betterment of their own people, the women and children and remaining men of the village had little chance against the invasion.

As children, Alberta and Malcolm Maccausantin had been unusual friends. He was much older and in line to be the Chief of the Clan, while she was the youngest daughter of the village cobbler, poor, wilful and motherless. He had forsaken her when she had spent her years as a blossoming woman waiting for him to return. And now she was held captive by these Pagans from a land far away.

Time had thrown a different light on the handsome leader of the barbaric Pagans in Alberta's eyes. Now they shared a love and had a burning desire for one another. When Malcolm, Chief of the Clan, returns to save his people, Alberta must choose between her love for the Norse leader and her allegiance to her people and her erstwhile devotion to her own Malcolm, her childhood friend and love, who had forsaken her once and betrayed her when she needed him.

The author begs you to contemplate the deep love of a people whose clan affiliation is a way of life and an assurance of survival and livelihood in a time when man's humanity to man was not promised.
