Carte Blanche Volume 2: Painting

Carte Blanche Volume 2: Painting

Clint Roenisch
0/5 ( ratings)
In the footsteps of The Magenta Foundation’s successful Carte Blanche Volume 1: Photography, we are happy to announce Carte Blanche Volume 2: Painting.

In this volume, we see the diversity of Canadian painting from two hundred of Canada’s best and most promising artists, selected by a jury of renowned arts professionals. This showcase of work is an example of the talent that exists in Canada, rarely displayed and long overdue.

Internationally recognized painters such as Tony Scherman, James Lahey, Karin Davie, John Hall, Harold Klunder, Tony Urquhart, Shelley Adler, Graham Gillmore, Jay Isaac, Chris Cran, John Hartman, Kim Moodie, Will Gorlitz, and David Urban are just some of the names making up this list of two hundred selected painters.

The two outstanding volumes of Carte Blanche will help change the perceptions of Canadians—and the world—about artistic achievement in Canada.

Canadian author Jane Urquhart contributes a thoughtful and timely foreword to the book. Her fiction has been published in more than a dozen countries and has earned awards and honors, including the Governor General’s Literary Award for Fiction, the Marian Engel Prize, the Trillium Award, the Harbourfront International Festival Prize, and France’s prestigious Prix du Meilleur Livre Etranger.
