Others might just love this type of book, but I didn't because it made me so angry. I guess I get too "into" the book and whatever makes the protagonist angry also makes me feel that way.As the story progressed, it got better, though. It is really a warning about letting technology get too advanced, and the problems that can cause.
So so. Some stories better than others. Some I just couldn’t get into, some were really good a few sucked. My advice, by the time you are 10% into any story, if it hasn’t caught you...skip to the next one, as none of these books get better by that point.
Book by book review, very mixed bag, 37/85 some 5* but a few so terrible they scored 0.1. Death Hub. It's the 7th in a series too much time on backstory & brings in stuff don't need. Difficult to remain engaged - sentences that made no sense, bad protocol when suspect in hosp, no explanation why suspect 'out of bounds' despite record 0 stars.2. Shatterproof. Mum & daughter. Several plot holes. Rescue too easy 1 star.3. Overdose. This was odd I have too many questions. End reached too easily. Had...
I read Unlawful Harvest by P.D. Workman, and am leaving this review for it. This is an excellent book. I love the characters and the very interesting story line. I will definitely read the next book in this series. If this book is any indication of what the rest of the books in this set are like, I can't wait to get to read the rest of them.
I love it when a group of authors come together and put their work into a collection. It’s good for them and it gives me a chance to read some great books at a super low price! Plus, I often find new authors that I haven’t had the chance to read before so that’s icing on the cake! One such example is the Do No Harm collection. It features 17 authors, each one contributing a superb medical thriller written in the style of authors like Robin Cook, David Balducci, and Patricia Cornwell. One of the b...
The Gamma SequenceGripping storyline and intensely captivating. I just had to keep reading to find out what happens next. Excitement, mystery intrigue, drama and everything else that pulls at your heartstrings made this a great read. I want to read a sequel to this story.
'Do No Harm' is a boxed set of seventeen medical thrillers. Yes, you read that right: SEVENTEEN - and for less than ten bucks. (If, like me, you gobbled up the pre-order, you could have had it for the ludicrous price of 99 cents!) I was initially attracted to this collection as it contained novels written by authors with whom I am already familiar. Christoph Fischer (one of my favorite Indie writers), who created the 'Three Nations Trilogy' and a number of other works of excellent literary ficti...
My review is for Unlawful Harvest by PD Workman, which is part of this set. Good suspenseful novel. Who is telling the truth? What is the truth? MacKenzie donated a kidney to her sister Amanda several years ago. But now Amanda is sick again and it appears that she had a second transplant. Where? Why? And most importantly, why did no one in her family tell her? Surprises for MacKenzie keep popping up and she doesn't know who she can trust. She finds out more and more disturbing information as the...
Cole never disappoints and Viable Hostage from the Do No Harm set is further proof! Her morbid fascination with the maleficent well becomes her innately ominous storyteller soul. Once again I found myself “watching” the cinematic development of the plot as my mind bounced from one horrific deed to the next. Her prose rides the fine line between word and image with clarity and precision – once finished, you will swear you saw the movie! This is a thrilling last second save of a novel and I highly...
