Ten telegrams set in motion this dark western. Lawman turned enigmatic outlaw Pablo The Predator Portilla, his right arm useless courtesy of wounds obtained in a knife attack, recruits ten other unsavory folks for a mysterious meeting. Each of the ten are distinguished for having some sort of physical abnormality. One is missing an eye, another an ear, one walks with a peg leg, and one is a hunchback. The mob also includes an albino and a dwarf. Over several days, the marred mob eventually congregates in Siler City on the appointed date, waiting for Portilla’s instructions. Ed Buck, a former confederate soldier, his face badly burned during the war, becomes the mob’s unofficial leader. He quickly becomes attracted to the mob’s sole female member, Estelle Benton. Benton is not bothered by Buck’s appearance. She cannot speak or hear. She communicates with Buck via the written word. While waiting for the scheduled August 4th meeting, Buck takes it upon himself to case Siler City’s bank. He’s convinced he can successfully rob the bank, and recruits several marred mob members for an August 5th robbery. Unfortunately. Portilla and his accomplices, corrupt Sheriff Vic Vaughn of Yuma and Siler City Saloon owner Gus Williams have other plans.
