Starting Over in Key West: You Can't Run Away Forever( book 3)

Ty was enjoying the slower pace of life being the Captain of the Key West Police after a near fatal injury forced him to retire from the FBI two years ago. Ty didn’t even mind living in the garden cottage at the back of his childhood home because he was surrounded by his family and lately it was the only place he wanted to be. Ty’s family liked to joke that he’d never married because he was married to his job. But Ty’s heart held a dark secret and a love he could never have and has never been able to replace.

Ty’s slower pace of life soon gets a lot faster when a fiery haired, sassy mouthed, eleven-year-old who’s not too sure about her name tries to steal his wallet. After taking the young girl, who claims her name is Roxy, down to the station Ty learns that social services can only tend to Roxy’s case after the weekend. Not knowing what else to do with the child, Ty takes her home where Roxy is fast welcomed into the fold of his rather large, big-hearted family.

What should have been a simple investigation to track Roxy’s father down turns into a life-threatening situation after Ty inadvertently alerts some dangerous people to Roxy’s whereabouts.

Dr. Dawn Hurley knew by coming to Key West she would run into Ty Young. In fact, she was counting on it. Ty had information about her sister’s death, information that she now needed to free herself and Roxy from having to live a life on the run ever again. What Dawn wasn’t counting on was headstrong Roxy deciding to go on her own mission and find her father armed with the little information Dawn had told her about the man.

Dawn didn’t know if it had been a blessing or a curse that the one-man Roxy would have a run in with was the same man that they needed to help finally free them. Dawn knew that her being in Key West would cause complications for Ty because of his history with her sister. A history that Ty had to trap away in his heart and guard as a dark secret, one which was going to rip his already strained relationship with his cousin, who Ty thought more of as a brother, completely apart.
But Dawn had no choice. Especially not after the latest attempt on Roxy’s life. Roxy was all she had, and Dawn would do whatever it took to keep her safe even if it meant blowing up the life of the one man who could destroy hers all over again.
