The Savage Kick is a literary magazine, but it isn't Reader's Digest or any of the "we accept anything" online drivel you see knocking around. We only accept a few stories per issue, and the results are something distinctive... We wouldn't do it otherwise.
Please, if you want to submit, read our submissions guidelines carefully... We don't want half-assed stuff, we don't want musings or ruminations or anything that doesn't make the reader sit up and take notice. Misery, joy, psychosis, hope, isolation, disgust... If it's a brutally honest feeling or story that you feel you have to share, then it will normally translate into something we'll like.
Much of The Savage Kick is shocking to some, but the intent is not simply to shock. The magazine is simply about truths passionately told, articulated in such a way they can be understood with relative ease. We only print stories that do not hide behind vague descriptions and Shakespearean excesses.
SK#3 is in stock and ready to order! In A5 format/book size and with more content than ever... SK#3 has well over 20,000 words of hate, love and pure guts that you can only find in Savage Kick:
---Savage Kick's Exclusive Interview with Mark SaFranko
---Haunting Refrain by Mark SaFranko
---Wilson by Steve Hussy
---2 Days - 2 Nights by Frank Baron
---Savage Kick's article on comic-book writers ---Exclusive Interview with Jim Goad
---Overture: Drowning In Shit by Jim Goad
---Peepshow by Joe Matt
---Original art by Richard Watts, Mark SaFranko and Steve Hussy
