Despite being an atheist, and basically an anticlerical, Francesco Trento has been writing documentaries with both Guido Chiesa and Giulietto Chiesa , a combo for which he is frequently envied. Now all he needs is to work with Julio Iglesias, and his soul would be definitely saved.

In 2004, he wrote and produced with Volfango De Biasi the documentary “Matti per il Calcio” .

In 2005, he published, with Aureliano Amadei, “Venti Sigarette a Nassirya” .
He also wrote the screenplay for the theatrical adaptation, "20 cigarettes", awarded in the italian section of the Venice film festival 2010.

In 2007, with Franco Fracassi, he wrote and directed "Zero. An investigation on 9-11", with Dario Fo, Moni Ovadia and Lella Costa.

In the next years, he wrote several documentaries, a tv-series , and screenplays for various italian and international productions.
He published short tales, reportages and articles on many newspaper and magazines, such as GQ, Slowfood, Repubblica.
He also teaches screenwriting to a bunch of very talented students who frequently end up being is co-writers, and friends.

Since his father never planned to let him redeem the human kind, he brilliantly managed to avoid a hike on the Calvary and crossed safely his 34th birthday.
Having been a punk who spent his youth on a basic "live fast, die young" philosophy, that is still a source of pure bewilderment.

But, back to what really really matters, twenty years ago he scored two reverse-bicycle goals. Since then, he has been stubbornly trying to repeat that trick, again and again, but in vain. Those efforts have earned him lots of "oh, c'mon!” from his team mates, and even some hard landing on the most impervious pitches.
That doesn't stop him to play with the Italian National Writer's Team, the glorious Osvaldo Soriano Football Club.
