When it comes to cigarettes, Alison Beard has quit, and quit, and quit again. Now she shares her experience to inspire and help others truly understand the struggle involved in addiction.

Alison is passionate about helping fellow tobacco addicts quit smoking. She started smoking in 1986 at the age of twelve, and by the time she was twenty-five, she’d already suffered multiple collapsed lungs and undergone two lung surgeries. Her struggle to quit for good lasted nearly twenty years.

In Quit or Die Trying, Beard reveals the true paradigm of a quitting smoker and challenges the cherished and unquestioned principles of supposed authorities on the subject. Her goal is to inspire and empower others to quit as well as to convince legislators to enact laws that give quitting smokers a fighting chance.

Beard currently lives, and breathes fresh air, in Lebanon County, Pennsylvania.
