With a degree in Elementary Education, Cheryl taught kindergarten through fifth grade for over ten years, during which time she was recognized as Teacher of the Year. She also owned a pre-school for three years. As an educator and mother, Cheryl has long recognized the importance of getting children interested in reading at a very young age and has always had a great appreciation for good childrens stories that engage a childs mind as well as their imagination.

Over twenty years ago, Cheryl began the process of developing characters for a series of childrens' book with her husband's uncle who had a love for writing and a wonderful, creative imagination. While the characters had their beginning back then, life got in the way and the stories were set aside. Uncle Jim passed away and Cheryl made a pledge to herself to bring these delightful characters to life in books that would enthrall and delight children of all ages.

Born and raised in Chicago, Cheryl has been married to her high school sweetheart for over 41 years. Cheryl and her husband, Don, live in North Georgia and have two adult children.
