She majored in Spanish at the University of Cuyo in Mendoza, where she had lived since she was five years old. She worked as a teacher in that area.
Her first novel, Los Días del Venado, was published in 2000 and was the first installment in a trilogy called La Saga de los Confines. The trilogy met favourable reviews and was awarded several prizes. She has also published the novels Memorias Impuras and El Espejo Africano .
She died unexpectedly in Mendoza after returning from an event at the Havana Book Fair .
