March 16/15 How come this book is so much bigger than the first one? March 19/15 Omg...that ENDING!!! I was shaking when I finished it like OMFG!!! I Neeed the third book!!
“An eye for an eye, a tooth for a tooth. a burn for a burn. a life for a life. that's how all this got started. and that's how it's going to end.” 4/5 Stars! When I finished reading Burn for Burn, I immediately jump for the second book Fire with Fire, the truth is that I couldn't wait to know what was going to happen, after that end of the first book, I had so many questions and so many feelings that I felt that without doubts I had to continue with this series. In the first book t
Burn for Burn was a book which I really adored last year; it was a fun contemporary with a different twist. I don’t know what I was expecting going into Fire with Fire, but it wasn’t this. Jenny Han and Siobhan Vivian literally came out all guns blazing with this book. It was a story of three different girls coming together, but in particular the stories of Lillia and Kat really struck a chord with me.I instantly connected with Kat and Lillia’s character in Burn for Burn, so I couldn’t wait to s...
4.5 starsOH MY GOD OH MY GOD OH MY GOD OH MY GOD. HOLY PLOT TWIST. I DID NOT SEE THIS COMING!!!!!!!Ok...ok...I'm trying to calm myself down.I didn't like this book quite as much as the first one, mainly because all of the characters (besides Kat) were getting on my nerves pretty badly. Especially Lillia. Also, as you can see from my updates, I was really annoyed with certain things, like the fact that the word "slut" is thrown around so much and so carelessly. Still, this was a super-fast-paced
Overall Thoughts All I gotta say it that this was such a fun and addictive series! Not to mention just totally off the charts with insanity. It really ended up going somewhere completely weird and unexpected but totally awesome. The second book was by far my favorite cause it had the most twist and turns. And everything leading up to it was just pure fun high school drama and who doesn't enjoy that? lol Really enjoyed this series. Seriously, read it.Until Next Time, Emerald BookWorm
I just picked up this book early last week before heading to a camping trip, I wanted to read it so bad it hurt! In fact, I actually missed a beach day to just sit in a lawn chair and read a couple hundred pages!! If you thought that burn for burn was good then you're going to absolutely adore fire for fire!! <> Jenny did an amazing job on this one; I loved everyone and everything about this book, the only part that had me stuck was that of Mary's... I was so lost I had to re-read some of her pa...
"An eye for an eye, a tooth for a tooth. a burn for a burn. a life for a life. that's how all this got started and that's how it's going to end." Dayum! That ending triggered shivers all over my arms and neck. This revenge game has completely gone out of hand and people are literally getting hurt. Lives are put at stake and now, we’re also talking about ghosts? Like actual ghosts! Gah! I don’t know what to say really, except that this series is like a fat worm used as bait for the clueless,
A great follow up to the first installment in this series of Jenny Han and Siobhan Vivian, reading Fire with Fire is like watching a chick-lit, mystery, and paranormal movie. Kat, Lillia and Mary's plans on getting revenge should be petty stuff only, however, things getting haywire when people started getting hurt and being killed. The ending is also quite surprising because I did not imagine what Mary really is; I only assumed that there's something mysterious about her character, but I didn't
Well, I can't say I saw that plot twist coming! Bring on the next book!
Wow, I'm still panting a little bit after that ending. But I'll get to that later. So Fire with Fire picks up not long after the big Homecoming Dance disaster. The girls got away with what they did but their plan went wrong because Reeve is now injured. And then of course, there's Mary, who knows that there's something wrong with her and that she had something to do with what happened at the dance, but is trying her best to deny it and hides it from the other girls. But Mary is also still hop
I want the book nowMarch 18, 2013: The cover is gorg!!
Oh my gosh. I can't even.Reeve and Lillia.Mary.Rennie.I'm dying.I absolutely love Jenny Han, everything she writes is gold.
I'm not really going to write a review. I enjoyed this book, it was fast paced and I enjoyed the different point of views and seeing another side to some of the more villainous characters. That's all I really need to say about that. Now I need to get to the ending...I was confused. My first thoughts when I finished the book was what the fuck just happened? I stayed up til four am to finish this book, and now that I've had some time to think about it, I think I get it.Mary is a ghost(duh!). So ho...
Updates below! After reading the last page of Burn for Burn, I thought. Wait. That's it?! and frantically flipped the pages to make sure I hadn't missed anything:Needless to say, thankfully, there's a sequel. Looking forward to it!Update 3/21/2014WOW. So, Fire with Fire finally came out and provided some closure...until it didn't. The plot twist about Mary was mind-blowing, and the end left me terrified to see what Jenny and Siobhan have planned for these infuriatingly rash characters in the next...
Gosh, that cliffhanger.I went into this remembering close to nothing of Burn for Burn. But that's not a problem, because this book does a great job of reminding you of what happened previously.I really liked the characters because it's really easy to distinguish between them. So even though it's narrated from three people, it's not confusing. The side characters are great too, especially Alex. The ending leaves you with a ton of questions. Like, what whaaaat? Things add up and then they don't.
This was freaking AMAZEBALLS. Like, heck, I found a new favorite character – that itself is surprising. I’m not much of a character driven reader as a plot-driven one, but WOW THIS BOOK HAD THEM BOTH.Picking up a week later after the events in Burn for Burn, we see the trio – Kat, Lillia, Mary – are still hanging out with each other (which gives me all the feels!), unbeknownst to Lillia’s popular gang of friends. To rid Mary off her grief and heartbreak, they decide that Reeve needs to get aveng...
An ARC was provided in exchange for an honest review. This did not alter or influence my thoughts in any way.Disclaimer: If you haven't read Book 1, be cautious as this review may have some spoilers. Now that that's done with...GOOD LORD SWEET BABY JESUS. THIS BOOK WAS SIZZLING, I TELL YOU! SIZZLING GOOD!Honestly, I'm not coherent right now. My feelings are all over the place and I don't think I'll be able to keep myself from gushing how madafracking awesome this book was and how it made me a
See more reviews at YA Midnight ReadsThank you Simon and Schuster Australia for sending me this copy. No compensation was given or taken to alter this review. Burn For Burn was fun. Fire With Fire was another story. Much more complex with depth and more of a realistic backbone, the sequel to Burn For Burn surprised me entirely. If you were not the greatest fan of Burn For Burn, I believe that this one is still worth trying because it was a huge improvement. Sweet revenge turns sour... Lillia, K...
OH. EM. GEE.Honestly I loved the first book in this series but I wasn't sure where the story was gong to go from there and I wasn't expecting this AT ALL! The twist at the end was so unbelievably unexpected to me, my jaw hit the floor! I LOVE this story and I need the next book! Im sp back and forth on all of these characters, I have love hate relationships with almost all of them because they all seem to do messed up stuff but they also all have redeeming qualities. The only character I love al...
That ending blew my mind. I’m addicted to this series.
