Enough good stories and sequels to keep me reading the series.
Good enough, diverting enough collection of fantasy short stories.
Meh. Some of the stories were cute, but that's about it.
I have liked this series since I first came across it - it's nice to see female heroes. There are familiar tropes, (enough to where during the first story I was certain I'd read this volume before - but no, but it's overall a quick and fun diversion.

This is a solid entry in the series. As with any compilation, not all of them will suit everyone, but the best ones are excellent.
Overall, a solid S&S representative. I quite liked many of these stories, and found a few to be trite, terribly predictable, or simply boring. This contains one each Bera and Cynthia story, as is more usual than not - the Bera story (Passage of Power, Diana L.
