Pretty funny :-) got this to laugh at the ugly sweaters. Enjoying the humorous descriptions for each picture. "It seems that the snowman in the red sweater has taken the other two hostage at branch point".
Had grabbed this at the library as a joke, just to flip through. Hysterical, quick, and now I really want to make an "Energizer Elf", but I like Red Bull and Vodka's anyway :-)
Brian Miller, Adam Paulson and Kevin Wool show off how to plan the Ultimate Ugly Sweater Party. From food, drinks to games and contests, this book shows off the ugliest and hilarious sweaters ever. Over 100 photos and a Hall-of-Fame of humorous tops make this a fun party-guide.
Published in 2011 by Abrams ImageMiller, Paulson and Wool (better known as Team Ugly) maintain the website uglychristmassweaterparty.com which is a re-seller of Christmas sweaters - the gaudier and more covered with Christmas bling, the better. What a truly tacky waste of paper. Perhaps the idea of intentionally making holidays ugly is lost on me?
Although I love this book. It was a read for me, and I guess it left me with a little bit to be desired. I wish it had more diys for decoration or outfits. I felt there wasn’t enough games or food ideas to be honest. With half the book being sweaters I feel more could have been spent on the party aspect itself.
Cute ideas and a fast read.
In November, I ran my annual search on the Kalamazoo Public Library website seeking books to enjoy for the Christmas holiday. I reserved this one thinking it would have some photos to look at, and that would be funny. I was gravely mistaken. What a great party planning book! Suggestions for food, who to invite, and where to hold it. Great to plan most parties!
Great way to make money on a passing fad! But I LIKE ugly Christmas sweaters! It would be really fun to throw a party with this these, and they include food that coordinates with the ugly. This book has nothing to do with knitting the ugly sweaters, just the making fun of them!
Very funny, though I do think that they are too hard on some of the sweaters.
About 1/3 of the book provides an overview of what needs to be done to host a successful ugly Xmas sweater party from planning to judging (and throws in a couple of drink and snack recipes for good measure). The remainder of the book has photos of some just awful sweaters labeled with terrible puns (the best kind of pun, really) such as "Santa-tary Confinement" and some brief lines interpreting what's really going on in that article of clothing (hint: nothing good...).A humorous, light holiday re...
