The characters lack depth and the ending is highly predictable. Too many unresolved plot lines.
All the cute charm of the Llama Llama books, but nice and short for little attention spans.
Llama llama loves a nightly routine. Do you?**Talking Points - What do you love best about your nightly routine? What would you like to add? What do you like least and wish you could eliminate?
Too simple to keep my 5-yr-old and too short for my preschoolers. They paid attention fairly well, but only because they were interested in the activities that the llama was doing, and they could relate. There was no particular joy or interest on the part of the story and frankly, it was like every other board book we own. Nothing original here.
Good bed time story
It’s a simple formula, the llama llama books, but a loved one.
It’s a cute story that’s part of the Llama series. I bought this book and a few other Llama books since one of my daughter favorite lovelies is her stuffed Llama.
A book for infants and toddlers to understand and set the nighttime routine. Mama Llama makes Llama llama follow his nighttime routine. Post dinner, he brushes his teeth, takes a bath, visits the washroom and then it is time to read a bedtime story. He snuggles in with his Mama to read. Mama Llama tucks him in and then he is fast asleep. This simple yet sweet book.
My 6 year old loves to read these books to his younger siblings. The board books are easy enough for my almost 2 year old to pay attention to, and the longer, paperback ones, he reads to his 4 year old brother. He loves the rhyming rhythms and the silly, yet real, story lines.
My 18-Month old brought this book to me tonight before bath and bedtime. It is sweet. When we got to the part where llama brushes his teeth, he pointed to his mouth and made the motion of brushing his teeth. We actually read it 3 times. Lol. Good illustrations as well.
A very cute edition to the Llama Llama series. This book goes through the activities (such as brushing ones teeth and reading a book) as Llama gets ready for bed.
Just the right length, and a subtle nod to itself and it's silly ryhmes.
This is a board book, so it's much shorter and less developed than the other Llama llama books tend to be. Same cute rhymes and illustrations, but very simple, and less sweet, because of the lack of development. Nothing super special about this book, but I'd use it with little kids.
My baby loves this book before bed. The real trick is to sing the book. It goes perfectly to the tune of Brahm's lullaby. Learning that was a game changer!
This is my son’s current favorite read. We’ve read it so often that I have it memorized. He will randomly bring this book to me to read and he wants to read it over and over and over and over...
I really enjoyed reading "Llama Llama Nighty-Night." This is a fantastic board book which describes a night time routine. The book describes how Llama gets ready for bed by first brushing his teeth, then taking a bath, and then his Mom reads him a story. This is a very cute book that can help any child who is developing their own bedtime routine.
I first read this picture book to my niece and nephew. It was introduced as a way to set a routine for bed time. The rhymes and pictures of Llama made it easier for my niece and nephew to say "hey! that's what I do!" and be less annoyed about bed time. The tone of the rhymes are fun and soothing. This book is great for any child who needs to settle down at bed time. The words are easy to memorize but I never got tired of reading this book over and over again. The easy to memorize lines are great...
My son is pretty impatient with books. He enjoys them but at bedtime, where we read before his bottle and bed, he makes it only through the first or second page before nearly melting down. This board book passed the test and he enjoyed it straight through. The fact that so much of the language is exactly what we use every night as we get ready for bed is a great example of our words, action, and picture.
A short tour through the familiar Llama Llama's bedtime routine takes readers through the usual events -- baths, brushing teeth, putting on pajamas, and so on. It's not a terribly memorable book, but might be a nice way to wrap up a bedtime storytime program.
Shorter, a great introduction to Llama Llama for the younger kids with shorter attention spans. I was gifted this at the right time, around when my son was 2 so, by the time he was 3, he was interested in learning more about Llama Llama and the longer books made their debut.
