This book pushes traditional gender norms like women having the men do everything and the men being "protectors" of women and teaches girls that they shouldn't be too independent or else they'll never get a boyfriend. But, I had read the book that basically goes with this one, "Dateable: Are You? Are They?" and I did a review on that which would basically be the same thing. If you're a Christian who is against the sexual revolution of the sixties, this is the book for you.
Wouldn't it be cool if you could do a focus group on your "target audience"? That’s exactly what this book is. These authors (Justin Lookadoo and Hayley Morgan) writing styles are a serious but funny kind of standpoint. I love reading their books because they give real information that will help and it's really what I need right now. Especially as a young adult, it is important to have this knowledge with me. This book "the Dateable Rules" was made enjoyable and funny with comments and pictures
This is not what I thought it was, a continuation of . This is actually for a group (such as a youth group) who wishes to discuss the topics/issues from Dateable. DO NOT make the mistake of thinking this is "a guide to the sexes," it is a guide for the two sexes in church youth groups.
This was a great book for teens approaching the dating age. I wish I had read a book like this before I started dating because it would have changed a lot of things. I used this book with my eight-grade discipleship group and they loved it. They were shocked to hear the truth but it helped them see things from a different perspective.
If you are Christian, a teenager, and read a bible on a daily basis, this is the book for you.
This book was given to me by a pastors wife...so before my son read it, I read it firstI am not really sure that this is the book I want my children reading...I don't like the fact that the stereotypical way for a girl to act is propogated in this book "the man is the hunter, let him hunt" I don't want my daughter not to be independent, to change who she is or how she acts or to put on the back, burner the purpose God has for her life to put a man first...if they learn this early in childhood th...
I'm going to be honest here... I read both sides. They put both the guys' and the girls' in one book, so of course some of us are going to read both to see what the other side says. I found both sides extremely informative and hope to apply all these to my life from now on. It makes the differences between guys and girls make more sense. This book provides excellent insight to the thinking process of both genders and hits both spot on (I believe). I feel like I will treat my friends and other pe...
This book was pretty good I love the half girl half guy idea...two books in one! :)
A really cute book that helps young girls a lot to understand a few things that girls would otherwise be oblivious to.
