I picked this book up at Goodwill back when I was going through my "Gentleman" phase (who knows when that may come back?). It is on such occasions that you need to be short, pithy, and perhaps clever or witty. This book had a few ideas to get me started, but it was definitely the shallow end of the pool. Here's to Goodreads 50+...
Let your boat of life be lightPacked with only what you need—A homely home and simple pleasures,One or two friends, worth the name,Someone to love and someone to love you,A cat, a dog, and a pipe or two,Enough to eat and enough to wear,And a little more than enough to drink...For thirst is a dangerous thing.— Jerome, Three Men in a Boat

This collection of toasts and wishes is handy if you can't think of the words yourself, and a great starting point should you decide to greet, honor, and bless your family, friends, neighbors, and associates with a raised glass.* Over thirty years ago, Dave Fulmer was my nominating Squire for the Jack Daniel's Tennessee Squires group, which I still consider to be a true honor.
This book was complimentary last time I bought a fifth of Gentleman Jack.
Good coffee table book, though not a full enough anthology. Heavy on Jack Daniels references...
