A few gems.
Don’t be misled by the title of the most recent anthology in this series. The majority of these poets are well-published; the criterion for being includedas an emerging writer is that the poet has not yet published a full-length collection. Many of the poets have chapbooks, and some have had first collection manuscripts accepted. Bought just so I could have a hard copy of Gerardo Mena's "So I Was a Coffin". Other work looks good so far too, I'll post a more comprehensive review when I have the time.
Like most collections (in my opinion, of course), this one is a bit of a mixed bag - hence the middling review. Definitely some up and coming poets in this one that I would grant 5 stars based on their single poem. Favorites here include Sara Michas-Martin, Jacob Newberry, Kimberley Grey, Chelsea Woodard, Hilary S. Jacqmin, Ayako Matsuhita, and Hemant Mohapatra.
