The Tale of Squabbit

The Tale of Squabbit

Rachel Young
5/5 ( ratings)
Squabbit has always been different from the other animals in the forest; he can climb trees and jump from branch to branch like a squirrel, but he has the short little tail of a hoppity rabbit. Squabbit's furry forest friends don't know what to think: is he a squirrel or is he a rabbit? Soon, Squabbit becomes confused and starts to question who he really is. Eventually, with the help of wise old Mrs. Robin, Squabbit and his friends learn that it's not what you look like on the outside, it's what is inside that really counts. Author Jackie Young created the story of Squabbit with her daughter, Rachel, after noticing a squirrel in their own backyard with a short, bunny tail. She hopes that the story will encourage literacy among children, and will help kids realize that even though we each look different on the outside, it is what's inside that truly matters. Jackie Young is currently a Speech Language Pathologist in Webb City, Missouri, and works primarily with kids in kindergarten through the second grade. She plans to write additional empowering children's books in the future. Publisher's website: http: //www.strategicpublishinggroup.com/titl...
