2.4Needed grammar, copy editing and content editing. Also I very much disliked the main characters. Not my thing but the author has promise.
It took some time to get into the book. At first I didn't like the main character, Ace Angel, but he grew on me. He turned out to be a hard man but a very likeable hero in the end. I wanted more. I wish the author would have continued the series. Loved the time period.
I got a few pages in. Third person (so far) from the hero's POV, and way too much potty mouth for my tastes. Moving on.
I've come to expect a few mistakes in books when I read, usually typos. But this book had too many to ignore. The biggest problem with the mistakes was encountering "words" that aren't even words. I think the author should consult with a dictionary and invest more time proof reading. It's a shame really because the story had potential, but I couldn't get past the grammatical errors to finish it.
Not to bad. I was somewhat irritated with the constant sniping between the two main characters, but did enjoy the overall story line. Western historical romance, and I'm looking forward to the next book.
I'm not a romance fan, ordinarily. I was drawn to this book because of it's time period and location: late 19th century in San Francisco. Main character Gabriel has it all, he is handsome, a gambler, a supreme fighter, and a lover extraordinaire. He has a gang of Angels who provide security when needed to wealthy landowners. He is called to protect the daughter and son of a Chinese American man, who has received anonymous threats. Ana his daughter is as beautiful as Gabe is handsome -- and in tr...
Angel or Ace as some call him is in town working on getting what is due for his boss. He goes around and protects his bosses interest. He has a way of getting around with the women and the poker table. His old friend calls him to his home to protect him and his family. Angel and his 2 counterparts were former U.S. Marshall's so they know how to handle themselves. No one makes it past Angel. The young Chinese woman is giving Angel a run for his money. He tries to keep her safe but she has a mind
Gabe otherwise known as Angel, is an ace card player, womanizer with fast hands. He and his 2 sidekicks, Gunnar and Eagle, hire out as avengers to whoever will pay their ridiculous fees. Chao requests their presence as someone is threatening his family - his daughter Ana and son Kai. Gabe falls for Ana but must figure out who is out to get her before they succeed. This is my favorite of all of Ms Lee's books. Gabe is fearsome, controlling and knows what he wants. Set a century ago, it is an enjoy...
GOOD BOOK, WILL THERE BE ANY OTHER ANGEL books. LOVE TO READ THEM.
Enjoyed this book, was looking for any books cover Ace's friends.
This book has it all. A dangerously seductive hero, a feisty but lovable heroine and plenty of action/adventure. I loved this addictive page-turner.A great historical suspense.
I really liked this book. It was fast paced and kept my interest thoughout. The only drawback was it's lack of a good proofreader- dozens of mistakes throughout the book.
Ah, Taylor Lee is becoming one of my favourite authors. The books are just fantastic, with some amazing characters that I feel like I've known my whole life, and the plot is just awesome. Amazing.
This was one of the stupidest books I ever (tried) to read!! ARGH!!! I seriously doubt the author knows anything whatsoever about the time frame she is (trying to) write about. I don't even know how to begin to say how stupid this was, all I can manage is, Don't bother.
Absolutely loved this story. <3
This book is featured in the Romantic Suspense Anthology The Bad Ass Brigade which includes the following books:
Thoroughly enjoyable! The characters realistic and believable. The story is easy to follow and doesn't jump around like many others do. Could have done with better proof reading as there are a few grammer and spelling mistakes but they don't detract from the story (I have seen worse and more in books I have paid a fortune for). Well done Taylor! I am looking forward to reading the rest of the series.
Very good - all of Taylor Lee so far very good.
