Jake Gerzine has lived in Swanee Pass, a ski resort town, his whole life. He has grown up with a snowboard practically attached to his feet. So when Chris Carmyn, the world’s fastest snowboarder, comes to town, Jake and his friends can’t wait to watch their hero in action. But everything goes wrong when someone begins stealing Christ Carmyn’s expensive snowboards, and Jake gets caught up in the middle of the mystery. Will he be able to solve it before someone gets hurt – or worse?

He is the author of five volumes in the Marvel Encyclopedia series, but Jake the Grizz and the World’s Fastest Snowboard is his first children’s book – and his first work of fiction. He lives in Plover, Wisconsin, with his wife and three children, including his son Andy, the inspiration for the book.

Christopher Ivy, creator of the illustrations for the interior of Jake the Grizz, graduated from Parsons School of Design with a BFA in illustration. He began his career at Marvel Comics, and since then he has worked for most of the major comic publishers, including DC Comics, Dark Horse, Image, Valiant/Acclaim, and IDW. Most recently, he worked on Transformers and G.I. Joe comics for IDW.
