Fun, but not as good as the first one in my opinion.
I enjoyed this 2nd graphic novel. Derrick's thoughts included as blue background boxes. Some of them are hilarious, and it adds so much to the story. The case is wicked, but ends well.
Fun, very reminiscent of Castle. It would have benefited from a Beckett-like character to balance out all the over-sexed female characters.
As I mentioned when I reviewed the first book of the series, it feels like these not only let you into the world of Castle´s writing before he joined Beckett, but also into his life. It´s like you are suddenly allowed to see a different side of him.I really enjoyed the intrigue and how, even though absolutely hilarious, it feels so emotionally rich. There seems to be a lesson trying to come off these pages, one that Castle might have written more to himself than to his audience.
Well...I guess graphic novels aren't going to be my thing. I really enjoyed the two books that Castle wrote on this character but in this comic book Derrick Storm appears weak and whiney. Graphics and illustrations were really something though.
I'm still not sure about these.I still like and watch Castle, and I'm still reading all the tie-ins.This is better that the first Derrick Storm graphic novel. But it's not what I expected from the brief synopses.Derrick Storm comes across as a amateur bungler than as a hard boiled detective that the CIA would be interested in. So far in the first two stories Clara Strike is the competent one. Derrick is along for the clueless ride.In this story he actually less competent that in the first.I stil...
The "Storm" graphic novels are a charming extension of the Castle television series. This is the second I've read, enjoyed them both.
I am a huge fan of the "Castle" tv show. I love Nathan Fillion. So I was excited when they decided to create the books.Derrick Storm is a private eye. He is not too smart but pretty lucky. He is a bit of a wise ass, just like Richard Castle was.I never was a big fan of comic books, that is why I gave 4 instead of 5 stars. The plot is good, the dialog is cheesy (which is usually the case in comics), and the characters are great. It is only about an hour to get through, so I recommend it to everyon...
really like graphic novels!
Another spontaneous pick up from the library. I'm not familiar with the show just heard the name before. Art work was great, actions scenes were well done but it also felt like there was a little bit too much action. There was not really a place to rest the eye because there was always something happening. I also didn't realize that this was a second part even though it had a stand alone story but some elements would have been more fun if I would have known the first book.
Generally it was a fun read nothing really deep or different and actually the story is a story that has been used a lot of times over the years, but the characters are very likable and engaging so yeah 3 stars.
First you put a gun in my face, now you insult my cooking?Keep this up and I'm going to think you don't like me.
I LOVE the graphic novels of the Storm series. So excited that the next installment will be a 5 comic series. This was such a brilliant idea!
I loved the show Castle, I am such a Nathan Fillion fan! I really enjoyed the story about Castle's main character in graphic novel form. Storm is a funny, charismatic character. I'm glad I stumbled across this at my library!
Unlike the previous Derrick Storm graphic novel, Storm Season’s storyline is lacking and features confusing jumps as well as leaves unanswered questions.
I really enjoyed this volume, both the writing and the artwork. It really felt like I was reading something that could have been written by Richard Castle. It had the fun flair and quirky sense of humor that I have grown to expect from the character of Castle. All I can really say is that Bendis knocks my socks off with his writing, and his ability to set aside his own unique style and adapt himself to writing as somebody else, fictional though that somebody else may be, is nothing short of amaz...
"A man can become a monster before he realizes what he's done. When the realization dawns... it arrives in a loud chorus of quiet voices. It's whispered through fear, rage, and even shame. But truth and courage multiply in the presence of one another. And what begins as a din of whispers, is soon a deafening roar."- pag. 82
Pretty good. Definitely better than the first volume, not least because of better, more consistent artwork.
Normally I am strictly a DC Comics guy, but I am a big fan of the show Castle. These graphic novels are based off of the books Richard Castle wrote about Derrick Storm. This graphic novel follows right after the events in Deadly Storm. Derrick Storm is still a private detective, but now he is also a spy working for the CIA. After recently loosing his first CIA handler, he is trying to throw himself into his work. Helping a wealthy heiress get back the money she was conned out of, Storm comes acr...
Graphic NovelI liked this one slightly better than #1Very quick reads
